This was a piece I
did on my own. I was inspired by my love of octopuses and
my experiences as a child visiting the Point Defiance Zoo and
Aquarium in Tacoma. I wanted to merge a sense of innocent curiosity in this
piece as well as a comment about pollution and the ‘throw-away’ culture we have
today. I wanted this piece to have an impact the viewer to think about
their trash differently and what one defines as garbage.
