Hand Painted Shoes: My Neighbor Totoro

Work In Progress Pics

Finished Product

Well all that hard work payed off! I had fun making these, and I certainly learned a lot (note: avoid diluting paint in water, canvas spreads that everywhere)

You can find these shoes for sale in my Esty store ... I'm also considering opening up a Storenvy account, where I could sell for a reduced price without the seller fees...

If you are interested in these shoes, but they are not your size (Wmns. 8) or you are interested in a whole other custom shoe entirely, feel free to email me (kmlindbo@yahoo.com) or leave a comment. The price would run generally around $60, maybe more in the case of an entirely different design (it would take more time to figure it out and whatnot).

And thanks for stopping by!

Edit 06/01/2014: The original shoes pictured are now sold! However, the offer of a custom shoe, with this design or other, still stands ~

Fan Art Friday 05/16

I wasn't planning on submitting this as my Fan Art Friday today, but it fits the category so why not?
Mixing it up here with a watercolor, from a screen-cap I took while playing the MMO Guild Wars 2.

Art Trade - Turtle

Created this as part of an art trade on Tumblr. I have to say I enjoy working with Paint Tool SAI, feels more natural than Photoshop. Maybe I'll finally get around to creating more digital art

Daily Sketches, Week 2: May 5-7

In lieu of my original plan (which was to create a collective post of my daily sketches at the end of each week), in order to keep this blog more alive and to add more content to my Behance portfolio, I've decided to post my daily sketches every day. This will also prevent me having to scan and edit a bunch of images at once. So here's me getting caught up on this week so far...

For my mom - Mothers Day gift

So it's been awhile since I've made any wire wrapped jewelry. I used to have an Etsy shop, but for months now its been sitting empty because I haven't bothered renewing any of the listings, or make any new pieces. But upon discovering the news of Mothers Day fast approaching and me being left once again doubtful of what to get, I just went through with making something myself. Her favorite color is purple, but that was all I really went on for this.

Re-Draw Meme (2011 vs. 2014)

Today I finished my re-draw to show my progress in the way of mastering digital art. The previous piece was around when I first got my tablet (Wacom Bamboo) and was quite shaky with it.

I've taken this as evidence of my growing patience with creating digitally, also a slightly better understanding of anatomy (though how 'anatomically correct' can you get with a creature the doesn't exist?) I have to admit, the clouds were a brush from someone else, so maybe that's kinda cheaty. They're still pretty none the less.

Feel free to comment if you wish!
