Even though this ultimately took around 11 hours to complete, this paper had been sitting around for ages in my room with only a simple outline of the dragon itself. I rediscovered it and sat down the past two days to finish it. Even though it had remained untouched and forgotten for so long, I still remembered the general idea and aesthetic I had in mind for it in the first place.

Sketch Dump
A few odds and ends here. I haven't posted in ages on here or DeviantART (mostly been sharing stuff on tumblr or instagram)
Anyways, I've got a new tablet! A Cintiq 13HD, and all these below are things I've made with it. So far it's been a vast improvement from my dinky little Bamboo. The only real complaint I have is that the colors don't exactly match my laptop's, and not amount of fiddling with the settings has helped, I think simply because it can't show as many colors. Still not a deal breaker, since I usually edit and color adjust my pieces anyways before posting them, it's not taken anymore effort in my normal process.

A New DeviantART Account
http://kmlindbo.deviantart.com/
Awhile back I deleted my DeviantART account for various reasons, mostly because I wasn't using it as much and it was pretty dead (a certain art theft scare that went around is what pushed to me to actually delete it, but now that I've researched more about it it's not quite as 'legit' as it once seemed).
Now I've revived it, and for the most part it will parallel the content that goes up on this blog. I'll still be posting artwork on here moving forward, but if it comes down to being too much to upkeep both, then I'll get rid of the one with least traffic.
My reason for re-joining the art community on DA is pretty much just that. It's difficult to connect to other artists online, especially through a site not necessarily meant for it. The feeling of being drowned out by other artists on DA (ranging all levels of expertise and popularity) was pretty intimidating to me before. Now I reason that its better for my art to drowned in other art than to be drowned in a community that's not art related at all. I certainly will be using Tumblr and Twitter and all that jazz going forward too, but I also hope approaching DA as a tool and taking the work I put on there seriously will yield me better results than what I've been getting so far...

Hand Painted Shoes: My Neighbor Totoro
Work In Progress Pics
Finished Product
Well all that hard work payed off! I had fun making these, and I certainly learned a lot (note: avoid diluting paint in water, canvas spreads that everywhere)
You can find these shoes for sale in my Esty store ... I'm also considering opening up a Storenvy account, where I could sell for a reduced price without the seller fees...
If you are interested in these shoes, but they are not your size (Wmns. 8) or you are interested in a whole other custom shoe entirely, feel free to email me (kmlindbo@yahoo.com) or leave a comment. The price would run generally around $60, maybe more in the case of an entirely different design (it would take more time to figure it out and whatnot).
And thanks for stopping by!
Edit 06/01/2014: The original shoes pictured are now sold! However, the offer of a custom shoe, with this design or other, still stands ~

Fan Art Friday 05/16
I wasn't planning on submitting this as my Fan Art Friday today, but it fits the category so why not?
Mixing it up here with a watercolor, from a screen-cap I took while playing the MMO Guild Wars 2.
Art Trade - Turtle
Created this as part of an art trade on Tumblr. I have to say I enjoy working with Paint Tool SAI, feels more natural than Photoshop. Maybe I'll finally get around to creating more digital art
